What We Are Looking For

The Senior Accounts Payable and Supplier Specialist will assume responsibility for purchase request processing and supplier onboarding and maintenance. In this role, you will ensure accuracy and timeliness for vendor onboarding and updates. Support accurate regulatory filings and financial statement preparation. Provide exemplary and timely customer service. Analyze and process purchase requisitions for payment.

A Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience is required while 5 years of experience is preferred. An active Christian faith is also required. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What will you do?

Serve as the primary contact for vendor on boarding and registration process
Oversee all supplier on boarding tasks in accordance with best practices and regulations
Perform Accounts Payable supplier maintenance tasks for both domestic and foreign vendors
Understand and comply with IRS 1099 vendor documentation and reporting requirements
Review vendor records in-depth to maintain accurate vendor files; be alert to and identify fraudulent attempts on vendor files
Maintain data integrity of confidential information, security policies and procedures
Communicate and ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulations
Review upcoming regulations and system updates and make recommendations to management
Lead and participate in continuous improvement efforts recommend actions to streamline processes and improve operational efficiencies
Provide exemplary customer service by communicating and developing a rapport with internal and external clients
Field phone calls and emails for questions about supplier onboarding and maintenance, purchase requests, invoice processing, Ignite AP, reporting requests.
Analyze and process purchase requests and perform accuracy checks, as needed.
Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
Ability to comply with University policies
Maintain regular and punctual attendance
