Location: Off Campus Location - Lewiston , Coordinator will work with the communities of the Lewis-Clark Valley. Offices for this position will be located in Lewiston, Idaho.

Position Summary:
Specific to this position the Outreach Coordinator works to
  • Provide support services so that participants develop their skills and motivation necessary to succeed in postsecondary education and career, including financial literacy
  • Facilitate authentic hands-on activities that build students' experience in skills necessary for careers particularly STEM careers. The Coordinator primarily works in the Lewis-Clark Valley and collaborates with the team in Moscow at the University of Idaho campus.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or Social Sciences
Experience:
  • Working with and/or understanding the needs of diverse populations, such as low-income communities and individuals with disabilities.
  • Operating computers with the ability to conduct independent research, prepare informational reports, and analyze data using a variety of software programs.
  • Developing and delivering educational content in large group and individual settings (i.e.: in person, distance, digital).
  • Compiling and analyzing data.
  • Maintaining confidentiality while managing highly sensitive documents and information an adhering to FERPA and HIIPA laws.
  • Working with and maintaining student records.
  • Working independently with minimal supervision.


Preferred Qualifications:
Education:
  • Master's Degree in STEM related field


Knowledge of:
  • Concepts and factors related to educational opportunity for underserved populations including low-income, first-generation individuals; issues/factors relating to the mission of the organization including the socio-economic complexity and educational and cultural characteristics of the population served.
  • Local, state, and federal laws relating to the program purpose and goals; computer operation and software programs; program planning and implementation; conducting independent research.
  • Risk management.
Experience with:
  • Experiential STEM education.
  • Major program planning, developing professional, program evaluation; writing reports; and developing policies and procedures.
Ability and willingness to:
  • Visit with potential students where they are located, such as various local educational institutions, public agencies, and community organizations.
  • Work well within a team.
