MCCC/MTA Unit Position

Campus Location: Danvers, MA and Lynn, MA

SALARY: Anticipated starting salary is $54,820.00 - $60,000.00. Actual salary will be commensurate with education and experience in accordance with the MCCC/MTA collective bargaining agreement. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Full-Time Faculty, Accounting and Finance. is expected to teach a full-time (typically 15 credit hours per semester) schedule of courses in accounting, finance, and general business. Courses may be held at our Lynn and Danvers locations and/or in the remote or online environment as assigned. Full time faculty are also active in Business Department and curricular planning, student advising, and other college service activities. The successful candidate will be sensitive to diverse student body with a wide range of academic preparedness.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Teach a full-time (typically 15 credit hours per semester) schedule of Business/Accounting/Finance courses as assigned by the Division Dean.
  2. Prepare syllabi and develop/update curricula to address course and student learning outcomes and General Education competencies as appropriate, according to the teaching modality of the course (online, face-to-face, hybrid, etc.).
  3. Serve as academic advisor to assigned students
  4. Participate in curriculum development in collaboration with the entire department.
  5. Participate in college service consistent with the collective bargaining agreement.
  6. Maintain a minimum of four (4) scheduled office hours per week during fall and spring semesters according to the collective bargaining agreement.
  7. Attend required meetings either in-person or virtually (when available).
  8. Recommend suitable instructional material, textbooks, and library acquisitions.
  9. Participate in assessment of course and program learning outcomes, and program review.
  10. Use technology effectively to communicate with students and colleagues, to teach online as needed, and to enhance classroom learning as appropriate.
  11. Engage in professional development activities through participation in conferences, workshops, seminars, and professional associations to maintain excellence in discipline and in the classroom.
  12. Foster student success across the college's diverse student body, and address equity gaps, through innovative teaching and learning approaches as well as curriculum development.
  13. Actively participate in the general college community and fulfill duties as stipulated in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned, consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Job Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS
  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field.
  • Available to teach in-person classes at our campuses in Danvers, MA and Lynn, MA.
  • Demonstrated commitment to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff.
  • Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or National background check as a condition of employment.

PREFERENCES
  • CPA, CFA, CFP, or other accounting/finance industry certification.
  • Prior professional experience in accounting and/or finance.
  • At least one year of successful college teaching experience, preferably at Community College.
  • Experience with online teaching and Learning Management Systems.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • Evidence of excellent verbal and written communication skills.
