The Department of Sociology invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor or tenured Associate Professor position in Criminology and/or Socio-Legal Studies, beginning July 1, 2018. Competitive candidates must use a sociological perspective and should demonstrate a strong record of publication and potential for teaching excellence. They will be expected to have research interests that overlap with one or more of the department's other areas of emphasis, which will contribute to promoting a diverse and multicultural curriculum. Candidates with experience securing competitive grants and/or fellowships are encouraged to apply. The candidate selected for this position will be encouraged to establish cooperative research activities with other campus departments and/or professional schools, research centers and colleges across campus, and especially with the Presley Center for Crime and Justice Studies.
