IDEA Center Events, Program Manager


The University of Notre Dame (ND.jobs) is accepting applications for a IDEA Center Events, Program Manager.

The IDEA Center Events, Program Manager's primary purpose is to efficiently and professionally direct and coordinate all administrative and logistical aspects of conferences, workshops, lectures, panels and other events organized by the IDEA Center an its programs. Each year, they will be responsible for directing 12 events ranging in attendance from 35 to 250 people as well as a week-long festival with approximately 20 event in it that is expected to bring 10,000 to 15,000 people from across the area and through out several states.


Main responsibilities include:
  • IDEA Week - Responsible for handling all administrative and logistical aspects of a week long series of approximately 20 events called IDEA Week that involves the University as well as the surrounding community.

  • Responsibilities include; setting the vision, theme, strategy and overall direction of IDEA Week and getting buy-in from the appropriate parties on all of these. Managing and facilitating interactions with representative from governmental agencies, University departments and colleges, community associations, student body leaders and student groups as they each contribute to IDEA Week. Running planning committee meetings, handling board members and meetings while also working to add appropriate individuals to the board. Creating events for IDEA Week that are strategic and adhere to the week's vision and theme. Monitoring IDEA Week's budget and working with appropriate parties for its implementation. Working directly with the IDEA Center's Directory of marketing and communications on creating and implementing a marketing and communications plan for IDEA Week.

  • While working as the events coordinator this person will also work directly with the Vice President for Innovation in all areas of planning, publicity, and administration of events sponsored by the IDEA Center.



Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree (4 years). 5+ years experience working events and two plus years working on complex events that have sub-events and large attendances (50+ attendees). Excellent communication and administrative skills, a high level of professionalism in dealing with people, experience dealing with multiple groups each with their own agenda in one setting, good teamwork skills, efficiency, flexibility, a high level of proficiency with MS Office Suite, spreadsheets, GANTT charts, and commitment to the mission of the IDEA Center.
