The Admissions Coordinator will oversee domestic and international admission and records processes for both undergraduate and graduate business students. This position will assist the Assistant Director of Admissions and Senior Admissions Coordinator with hiring, firing, training and supervising student staff.

This position will suggest ways to improve admissions policies and procedures in the undergraduate and graduate admissions area for the Business School and will assist with updating the training manual as needed. As the primary in-person contact for domestic, international, and graduate Business School students, this position will communicate details on how to apply and what materials are needed while resolving conflicts that arise with documentation and application processing.

This position will maintain an admissions database system while implementing and monitoring compliance with university policies. Incumbents are responsible for collaborating with university offices to facilitate consistent communication with Business School applicants. This position will directly report to the Assistant Director of Admissions.

Admissions Coordinator

What you will do:
  • Oversee admissions and records for the Business School.
    • 2,500 undergraduate applications and 1,400 graduate applications are processed in a year, and 4,000 student records are maintained.
  • Serve as the primary email contact for the Admissions Office while addressing student inquiries and resolving issues with their application(s).
  • Demonstrate a high level of responsibility while ensuring efficient and timely matriculation by entering accurate credential and education information for CUSIS and Slate.
  • Manage verification of transfer credits, carefully analyzing transcripts to identify the corresponding institutions.
  • Prioritize accuracy throughout the admissions process, recognizing the potential impact of incorrect data on the student's CU transcript and overall academic progress.
  • Problem-solve on admission files while advising students on processes and deadlines.
  • Assist with creating admission and records policies to improve processes and procedures.
  • Provide office coverage when student workers are out of the office, ensuring that daily tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Assist with updating and maintaining training manual as needed.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance and execution of the communication plan for prospective and admitted students throughout the application process as it relates to what has been received, what is missing, and what is required once a decision is made.
  • Handle and develop solutions to student questions, correcting application issues as primary email contact and in-person contact for domestic and international student applicants.
  • Processes and evaluates foreign academic credentials as necessary, according to established CU Denver procedures and recognized best practices.
  • Advise and counsels prospects, applicants, and students on Business School admissions policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with CU Denver campus offices such as IA, ISSS, Office of Admissions K-12 Outreach, ASAC, Bursar's, Registrar's and Graduate Admissions areas.
  • Assist with preparing new student orientations, open house, and information sessions.
  • Attend meetings, conferences, and workshops to stay current on admissions-related issues. Primary contact for Slate Inbox, creating and improving snippets.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned vary throughout the semester.
  • Process non-degrees and certificates.
  • Process Intra-University Transfer (IUT) applications and Minor applications within OnBase and CU-SIS:
    • Index decision in OnBase.
    • Send out decision to Registrar's Office.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $50,000 - $52,000.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

  • Two (2) years of experience working in a Business School Admissions Office.
  • Master's degree in related field.
