Posting Context Statement:

The Program Coordinator will assist with the coordination of the program, perform a wide variety of program support functions, accomplish a variety of tasks, often under time constraints, with little to no supervision for the Kootenai County Extension Educator as assigned or required. This is an off-campus location in Coeur d Alene, ID. Office hours are 5 days a week with some weekends.

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for providing day-to-day operations support to team members throughout the planning, implementation and delivery of programs, and may serve as first point of contact for the unit.

Duties may include:

Serving as primary contact with program participants, customer service and office support functions
Facilitating communicating between program participants and managerial staff
Coordinating arrangements for the program such as meetings, conferences and banquets
Collecting, compiling and summarizing program data and managing records
Maintaining program calendars and schedules
May utilize University programs to create, review and approval financial documents, and to provide routine financial reports to the program administrator
Other duties as assigned

Required Experience:

Three years performing administrative, office and/or program support functions

Required Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Other:

Must be able to work occasional nonstandard work hours, including weekends

Additional Preferred:

Associate or Bachelors degree
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write concise reports, edit documents with proper grammar, and speak effectively to youth and adults
Experience with 4-H Youth Development Program, personal or professional
One year of experience as a program coordinator/assistant, including experience with the 4-H Youth Development Program (personal or professional)
Experience working with and motivating others in a friendly, professional manner
Skills in problem-solving, teamwork, and decision-making
Experience adapting research materials for effective verbal or written communication
Proficient in using computer software for word processing, spreadsheets, email, and internet research

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

Ability to lift and/or otherwise move up to 25 pounds and, infrequently, up to 50 pounds
